ICST Artist in Residence from 18.08.2025 to 07.09.2025 (Studio-Residence)

Dániel Péter Biró

From 18 August to 7 September 2025, Dániel Péter Biró will be at ICST for his Studio Residency. He is Professor of Composition at the Grieg Academy, University of Bergen, and studied in the U.S., Europe, and Israel before earning his Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2004. Previously, he taught at the University of Victoria in Canada and held positions at Utrecht University and Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute. Biró has received numerous honours  , including the Gigahertz Production Prize (ZKM), a Guggenheim Fellowship, and election to the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars. His music has been commissioned and performed worldwide by leading musicians and ensembles. He currently leads Sounding Philosophy, a research project funded by the Norwegian Artistic Research Program (2021–2025). Visit Biró’s website for more information.
