ICST Ambisonics Plugins

The ICST Ambisonics Plugins are a comprehensive production environment for Higher Order Ambisonics (HOA). They are designed for spatial composition, group movement, flexible loudspeaker layouts, and multichannel production workflows.

The suite supports up to 64 sources, which can be encoded to B-format / HOA and decoded to freely configurable loudspeaker setups. Core modules include MonoEncoder, StereoEncoder, MultiEncoder_64, AmbiDecoder, and MultiDecoder.

ICST intentionally does not provide its own binaural decoder, since several strong free options already exist. Recommended choices include the IEM BinauralDecoder and the free dearVR AMBI MICRO ambisonics plugin.

A key strength is the direct connection between panning, automation, and OSC control. In REAPER, this creates a flexible workflow for both compositional and production-oriented work up to 7th order.
