Ludwig Abraham (2022)

.... we had an amazing experience with the Ambisonics system and right after the initial correct calibration and adjustment! In advance I had some concerns about the size of the sweet spot, but the large distances in the room we worked in then almost rather helped, for our application. We mainly spatialized outdoor shots, some static, some slow moving. The ability to stagger different elements in depth was then quite terrific in a long sequence of scenes, where we built a "clock orchestra" from different shots. Overall, the decoder worked great with the envelope plug-ins in Ableton. Mixing point sources and ambisonics, or microport amplification and ambisonics, was also no problem at all….

....I had/have some exciting projects with 'lsl.performer', my improv tool. Since the residency, I have embedded the ICST Ambisonics plugins to manage everything related to spatiality. For me, it's a significant change, it's become much more flexible and easier to manage different setups, and I also feel that the movements and spaces are much more realistic now....
